A new national moment for trams

Time for Trams is a bold new annual gathering for the people shaping the future of urban transport in the UK.

The publication of Better Connected, the Government's integrated national transport strategy highlights the new tools being given to local leaders "to join up buses, trams and trains" and announced the establishment of a Mass Transit Taskforce: all positive signs for supporting the development of new tram and light rail systems in England.

It also showcases the Coventry Very Light Rail research and development project, funded through the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement and led by Transport for West Midlands and Coventry City Council, which is a key focus of the Time for Trams Summit, including study tours and site visits.

Time for Trams is not just another conference. It is a rallying point for political leaders, policy makers, investors and delivery experts who recognise that Britain needs to move faster – and think bigger – when it comes to mass transit.

Time for Trams is about one question:
How do we deliver new tram networks faster, more affordably, and at scale?
