Join fellow walking and cycling experts, campaigners, planners, engineers, businesses, BIDs, educational establishments, and community champions to discuss how we can enable more people to walk and cycle more often more safely in Hertfordshire. This event forms part of Hertfordshire’s public engagement on the new Active Travel Strategy as we journey forward into a safer, cleaner and greener future.
The aim of Hertfordshire’s Draft Active Travel Strategy is to create places where walking and cycling are safer and so convenient that they become the natural choice for short trips.
We outline the benefits, challenges and our approach to achieve this aim.
We encourage delegates to go to our consultation webpage to comment. Find out more here www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/consultations
About the event
This event is part of Hertfordshire’s public engagement on the new Active Travel Strategy. The programme will present how as an authority we plan to increase the numbers of people walking and cycling in the County, and this event allows officers and Members to hear from the key stakeholders across the county your views on our proposals and other suggestions on how to achieve our objectives of getting more people to use active modes for short journeys.
With a Cargo bike demonstration zone, market area, delegates will also have the opportunity to see the tools, talk to the organisations and try the bikes and trikes that can help the County get more active.
